Archerfield Airport occupies over 600 acres with two hard surface runways, one of which is lit for night flying and two grass runways. Probably one of the great features of Archerfield Airport is the ease in which you actually get airborne - there are no long queues for the aircraft run-up bays or runways and therefore no time delays in getting off the ground.
The control tower is well equipped to administer the safe arrival and departure of aircraft and encompasses flying both in and out of controlled airspace. Flying Schools enjoy the best positions on the airfield being close to all four runways, resulting in reduced taxi time.
As a working commercial airport a student experiences a wide range of General Aviation services to include charter operators, parachute schools, maintenance and avionics companies, propeller overhaul facilities, rebuild and restoration companies.
All in all it's a totally stimulating atmosphere to be a part of.
